Aesthetics at Brows Etc

We hold a specialist clinic at Brows Etc where treatments such as wrinkle reduction injections and Dermal Filler are provided. Free consultations are available for you to discuss your requirements and for you to meet our talented aesthetics specialist Hayley Berry.

Hayley Berry is a respected & very experienced Pharmacist Prescriber with specialist training in aesthetic procedures. She has been working at Brows Etc since we first opened in 2015 and has built a loyal following in this time. Hayley has a very gentle  style when it comes to aesthestics. She works with your natural facial characteristics to help you enhance your features creating subtle enhancements which she will often suggest you build on over a period of time.

The media have made many people wary of trying injectable treatments for fear of the unnatural and obvious looks we have come to see too often. Over stuffed lips, glass like foreheads and unnaturally plump cheeks are not the style Hayley has become known for, she has gained her reputation by providing the type of rejeuvenation that will have your friends commenting on how well you look rather than asking where you go for your treatents.

During your consultation Hayley will be honest with you about expected outcomes and always maintains clear records & photographs of your treatment.

Bookings for these treatments are made directly with Hayley via the form below. Once you have provided us with your contact details Hayley will arrange a free consultation for you.

About Anti-Aging Injections

What Are They and How Do They Work?

An injectable compound made from naturally occurring bacteria which is used to relax the muscles that cause lines. Many people worry as the concept of injecting a toxin into your face sounds scary but when used by a trained professional in very controlled doses, the practice is safe.

The compound is injected into a specific area, and once inside, it binds itself to receptors in your muscle, affecting the nerves within. The function of the muscle decreases, and the wrinkle that forms when the muscle contracts will diminish, or go away completely.

It’s not a permanent solution though as your muscle function will return 3-4 months after treatment as your body regenerates.

Is It the Same as Filler?
Not at all, it impacts the muscle preventing it from working and therefore stopping the creases forming, filler does exactly as its name suggests, fills out wrinkles or adds volume to the face and lips.

Where Is It Used?
The most common places it is injected are the crow’s feet around the eye area, glabella (creases between the eyes) brow furrows, and in horizontal wrinkles on the forehead. It is also used to lift downturned lips.

It can also be used to address excessive underarm sweating. When injected into the sweat glands, it can completely halt sweat and odour for months.

How Long Does It Last?
Immediately after getting the treatment, it will take anywhere from one to 10 days to kick in, and on average, it lasts about three to four months as that’s the amount of time it takes your body to regenerate new receptors within the muscle.

About Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers and What Do They Do?

Dermal fillers are simple injections that are used to correct and enhance the face helping improve its appearance.

The majority of which are made up of hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule that attracts and binds water in the skin), and work in harmony with the body’s remaining collagen and elastin, supporting these all-important proteins to give skin a more full and youthful appearance.

Where Is Dermal Filler Used?
Dermal fillers are used to correct or enhance facial contours, plump up lips, soften the appearance of wrinkles and improve the tone, texture and hydration of the skin. They can be used to fill out the cheeks, correct nose & chin contours and are a successful anti agin treatment for tiebacks of hands.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?
Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler used, as well as, how well it’s suited to the purpose and to the individual.

There are over 160 different brands of hyaluronic acid available and Hayley will be able to advise you on what’s right for you.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
One of the reasons fillers are so popular is because of their safety.
Allergic reactions are nearly unheard of and infections are also extremely rare.

Injections should only ever be carried out by a healthcare professional with specialist training.

How To Choose Your Aesthetics Practitioner.
Though many people can inject anti ageing treatments, that doesn’t mean they should. It’s important you choose a practitioner who not only is qualified but understands the anatomy of the face and who is also approachable. Feeling comfortable to talk to and ask questions of your practitioner is a vital part of your consultation.

Going to someone who is qualified and consistent is so important. Hayley will document your treatment, how much product is used and where so that she can see what those results are. By staying with the same practitioner and allowing them to get to know your face and how the treatments work on you as an individual she can tailor your treatment so you always get the result that’s best for you.

If you constantly change practitioner, putting convenience and cost first the results will understandably often be varied.

About Your Aesthetics Treatment

A consultation is always performed prior to any treatment. Hayley will ask you questions about your medical history, current medications, and any other relevant medical information. Meeting your expectations & addressing any concerns or fears are a big part of your consultation.

You will never be hurried into making a decision on having any treatment, Hayley offers free 15 minute consultations so that you can discuss what you’d like to achieve without having to commit.

After Your Treatment

Following injectable treatments it is possible you will experience some minor swelling and occasionally bruising. This is generally short term. You will be given aftercare advice at the time of treatment on how to manage this should it occur.

You may be asked to return 2 weeks later to review the results and make slight adjustments if necessary.
